Frustrating!NIS bug

The more I try NIS the more frustrated I am. It is not working, not ready.

Several old and some new annoyances:

1) Friends list, clan chat list and friends chat list — the line between names and worlds doesn’t save.
2) Please make all these lists to use one and same style. Also consider to shorten Offline and Lobby XX (why do we need to know Lobby world numbers?).
3) When typing in clan chat couple of last typed lines hide under the typing box – scroll up is not staying on the bottom, you need to scroll down to see all what’s been said.

4) When not using fullscreen for playing, saved setup doesn’t follow the size of browser window. I often re-size my browser for better usability for other than RuneScapes Gold needs.

5) Using easter ring: My saved 3 D World Edited game screen changes back to full scree (within the browser), chat interface changes to square shaped, minimap is lots bigger and Unmorph interface is not movable form bottom right corner.
Unmorphing form egg: Saved game screen is back and other interfaces on their places except the combined backpack/skills/prayer/worn equipment/notes interface. It has lost all tabs and is only showing backpack. Logging in lobby doesn’t fix it, only brings back the bulky title bars instead of slim. Logging out doesn’t fix it. Only re-choosing from presets brings the tabs back.

6) Transparent bank, although not a bug, is difficult in use. Turning down transparency helps but the scratche look of the opaque skin is not good either. Can we please have a smooth option too?
I also don’t understand why bank pin has to be in central interface and not in bank interface. It is not logical to have to move your eyes and hand from possibly re-placed central interface to possibly differently re-placed bank inteface.

Runescape not happy jan

Deleting my jagex cache is only a temporary fix, when i got to the lobby and come back i have to reload rs, then every couple of hours i have to go back and delete my cache again, i really think jagex needs to fix this problem bc I cant stand this, I cant pvm bc the servers dc, and now my friend dced at qbd for trying to get a kill in 6 min before the update yesterday morning, i went to bless his grave but couldnt bc he wasnt online. My friend lost his tetsu helm, off-hand rapier and melee boots and melee gloves, over a 100m loss, and i understand that its his fault. What makes me mad is the fact that all the black screens make it so i cant get crap done such as smithing, questing, or sitting in the ge flipping.

I will not update my graphics card again for this, and im done deleting cache being it my 8th time doing it. Im sorry if you find this rude, but i want help so i can enjoy the game i love and have spent many years playing.

You know I’m hardly the guy to wave “the banner of sympathy” that so many sycophants and opportunists seem to do like a knee jerk to Jagex’s technical faults and difficulties, but in fairness they’ve tried to implement new features to give the Runescape Gold game more appeal to existing and new members alike.

However everyone must bear in mind that Jagex is a company, a business and these new features are not simply being introduced “out of the kindness of someone’s heart” but have a purpose. That purpose being to make money.

Now many of us have seen the company take a more..ahem.. attentive approach to the money making aspects of the game than might have existed in the past and againn, in all fairness, that’s not unreasonable at all.

However when the tradeoff to a functional product, is implementation of new features that cease to make the original product functional, THAT is just bad business.

P2P means PAY TO PLAY, NOT PAY TO BE PATIENT WHILE WE WORK OUT THE BUGS OF THINGS THAT PREVIOUSLY WORKED BUT WE’VE BROKEN.

Clans are suffering from this, membership is suffering from this and people in general are simply not going to abide by another series of dysfunctional mishaps under the guise of “creating a better game.”

Unless Jagex can competently improve the game, WHILE KEEPING IT FUNCTIONAL, they should be ready to write some refund checks (figuratively as most will probably more eagerly welcome a crediting to their cc or paypal accounts) if they can’t get this ship sailing.

You can’t put a flux capacitor in a DeLorean that can’t hit 88mph, guys and you’re already trying to replace the f.c. with a Mister Fusion while your car is doing 45 at best (on whitewall tires, I might add).

New Interface System issues

Click through chat box – where has this gone with transparency id have though this would have proved more useful than ever

/ to change chat – i don’t like that the /c /f /g changes the chat stream i like to be able to keep track of every conversation stream and react accordingly and if i want to see only the clan chat do it by clicking on the clan chat stream

Transparency -i like that but making the bank transparent i find a bit of a pain looking through the bank trying to find items

Edit mode – its not always clear what all the little multicoloured boxes are – “subscribe” a small explication of what it is on hover over click or just in the be would be brilliant

Unclosable boxes – emotes guest chat its rare i guest in any other clan or use any emotes – can i not just close these boxes and add them when i want to use them?

Rotatable bar / action bar – why aren’t these rotatable anymore? would be good to see them rotatable again.

I somehow changed the layout of the bar to a hoizontal shape. No idea how it happened, could not make it vertical or back to the more squarish look it had when I logged in.
The opposite happened to the ability bar. It was normal when I logged in and after messing with the window edge it resized. I couldnt make it vertical or go back to horizontal again. This thing is more messed up than ever.

And why can’t we have the ability bar and the health indicator bar separate? This has annoyed me from the beginning. Also the option to minimze the ability bar is pointless if I am stuck with the health bar there anyway. Also like it better in the live Runescape Money game with the adrenaline bar on the ability bar by itself.

Please Jagex move the health/prayer/summon indicators somewhere else, or just have it work like in the live game.

No runescape patch notes latest update

All of this was in html5.
trying to find the things that changed in this update pretty hard -(

so far i noticed the bank has a tab so people can check ur worn equipment and it just pops up a huge interface along with the backpack this is overkill.

just show the worn equipment tab the same way how the inventory is shown on the right side of the interface.

or even better: have a perm toggle to show equiped gear on the left side of the bank and the inventory on the right side of the bank.

(1)bank colour and transparency is still terrible having a hard time finding items, a diffrent colour and seperate transparency for diffrent tabs would be the best

(2) map details changed awesome stuf!

(3) dungeoneering party interface tab now has a nice <- and -> bar to switch to diffrent tabs depending on ur scale size

(4) mini map changes made dungeoneering harder cant see the outlines of diffrent rooms and where the doors are. ( still no dung map in the mini game hud)

(5) cant seem to do any teleports withing dungeoneering even making gatestone is bugged (report send)

(6) reached the boss room in dungeoneering the exit was halfway trou the ground severall walls were placed incorrect was about to fill in a bug report then the game crashed

Vorago yet another uber boss

Look, I don’t like taking risks when it comes to bosses so I never do nex or king kalph or QBD, so whenever I hear about another crazy hard boss with insane damage and HP I just facepalm and ignore it.
Can’t we have some bosses that don’t require a ton of people helping out but are still difficult to solo?
I mean, come on, it’s like every new boss needs to be a level of magnitude above the last one. This doesn’t have to be like hollywood, ppl…

I would like to simply say QBD was a botted boss.

Just solo nex if you want a difficult boss. I’ve been thinking about buying the new magic gear and soloing Nex for a while. Its quite a challenge.

Just don’t respond saying stuff like ” i dont have 200m to buy gear blah blah blah”. You can just solo armadyl boss Kree’arra until you can afford better stuff.

I’ve been doing a few Kiln runs over the last few weeks, since I’m a bit uneasy on going to real bosses with the server issues.

It takes like 45 minutes, gives you a gauranteed 3m for that small time spent (better than bankstanding and getting no runescape money), and it’s incredibly easy with Obsidian (seriously, you can tank the Jads while eating an occasional rocktail with it due to the massive damage absorb). If the servers happen to crap out and I die, big deal, it’s a safe minigame.

I wouldn’t mind going back to actual bossing, but I can’t say I’ve disliked the Fight Kiln runs that much in the process.

Unnerf the anchor

As a frequent user of the anchor i too have run into these issues. Despite this i refuse to relinquish it as a weapon commonly found in my arsenal. My adoration of the anchor and its former glory will be remembered and hopefully be returned one day to its rightful place on the throne of high tiered weapons synonymous with rs today!

I noticed the eoc has completely nerfed many weapons, one of them being the barrelchest anchor, which is now reduced to the equivalent of a r2h. I think it would be great if Jagex would unnerf the many weapons they’ve nerfed. If you don’t want to unnerf the anchor, then lower the price it costs to get one repaired, since it costs 6 times the price of a rune 2h. Just doesn’t make any sense to nerf a item as expensive as the anchor to equal a weapon that’s 38k.

Well, no need to say it to them like that my friend. I think asking them nicely is a much better way to get results than accusing them of ruining things. I’m sure the way they have it set up they thought to be the best way, but obviously certain items like the barrelchest anchor were unecessarily nerfed.

I’ll be keeping a list of supporters, from a list of 10 to 50 to 100 etc.

edit: to everyone who supports this thread, don’t let it die. the best way to show Jagex a change is wanted is to gain an increasing number of supporters.

Runescape and the Bacon Quest

The action centres on a farmer called Eli Bacon, who accidentally discovers the delicious hangover cure after preparing his prize pig for a wrestling competition, covering it in butter and herbs (to make it more slippery in the ring) and housing it in a barn. A barn that then ceremoniously burns to the ground – cooking the pig with it. The smell entices the townsfolk, and after trying bacon for the first time the local community is intoxicated by the smell and taste.

Eli, of course, fears for the livelihood of his livestock – so has enlisted your help to try and convince the zombie-like townspeople that there is a value in keeping pigs alive. Cue a number of light-hearted and borderline-ridiculous missions that involve crafting worker outfits for hogs and even bringing armour-clad pigs with you to battle.

Bacon Quest is essentially an in-joke – apparent to anyone who has played Runescape for a long period of time. It plays on the idea that low-ranking warriors can level up by attacking cows and chickens, but not certain other creatures (like sheep, which is justified because you can shear these for wool). Early in the game’s twelve-year service, a group of artists added pigs to the world which, for no apparent reason, could not be attacked.

Back then, a promising QA employee at Jagex had suggested the idea of including bacon in the game. That employee’s name was Mark Ogilvie, who is now one of the Cambridge studio’s top design developers. “Yeah, Bacon Quest is the result of something that I have wanted to do for at least ten years,” he admits to me during a tour of the Runescape developer’s office.

“What I thought was really weird was that there was this great fantasy game, yet the developers had put anchovy pizza in it [before something as obvious as bacon]. Of course, it was coded in because the team just happened to be eating anchovy pizza at the time. But I said I wanted bacon sandwiches. I was told that we couldn’t put bacon in the game because the cooking skill was full, and that there was no need for it really.”

Although it’s clear that long-time employees of Jagex have stuck around because of the friendly and inviting work environment that its office provides – outlined in more detail in SPOnG’s Runescape 3 gold interview – it’s hard not to suspect that with Mark, there was an ulterior motive to his decade-long dedication to the company. He jovially reveals that, as he climbed the ranks, he “started to get more authority and more impositions” so that his bacon dream could become a reality.

“But then [once I had assumed a position where I could make this a reality] I realised, that all the developers before me who had said ‘no’ – they were right,” Mark explains. “I couldn’t afford to invest development time just putting bacon into the game. We don’t need it from a design perspective. But… this nagged at me.”

It wasn’t until the prospect of developing Runescape 3 – with the move from Java to HTML5, the wrapping up of apocalyptic storylines and all – that Mark decided that now was the right time to realise his fantasy. “More recently, we’ve been doing some bold things with our storylines. Big, dramatic stuff. We’ve killed off gods, and made some big changes to some of our oldest storylines. We concluded a lot of long-running things.

Seismics worth it

At Nex the new wand and orb are king. If someone on your team (or a disrespectful crasher) has the combo they’ll most likely get every kill since there are a good amount of advantages of using mage over melee and ranged.runescape money.

At the kalphite king I wouldn’t think it’d be as worth it unless you 100% mage. Virtus wand hits almost every time on melee phase and the minions and seismic would just offer a little extra damage. If you also mage during mage and ranged phases though reckon it would help you hit more often.

Is it worth 1.3 billion coins ish? I don’t really believe so since there are a couple of much cheaper substitutes that work great. But if you have a lot of bank to just put into something like that I don’t see why not at the same time.

So, I’m planning on buying a Seismic Wand sometime in the near future. I got 2 questions:

1) Do you think its 500 acc bonus over a Virtus Wand justifies it’s astronomical price?
2) Is it worthwhile getting the wand if I can’t afford the orb on top of that and use a Virtus Book instead?

Much appreciate it.

Was mainly thinking of using it at Nex or the KK, as using it anywhere else would really just be a huge waste of repair costs since you won’t need that much accuracy.

a Vwand+Book will hit the exact same as Seismic and Singularity.

Slice crit base is ~1850 with drygores, do the same with wrack and Vwand+Book or any mage weapon you desire it’ll be ~1850 as long as your spell is level 90+.

The only purpose the new level 90 magic weapons have is accuracy, where at nex you do not need it, kalphite king you do not need it, and Vorago you do not need it. (Nex and KK because you do not miss on them with vwand/book) (Vorago because range is better in every aspect there if you are tanking).

Runescape mage and range need a berserk

We have level 90 weapons for all combat styles. The combat triangle is balanced right?
WRONG.

Unfortunately, Magic and Range Ultimates cannot begin to compare to the added dps gained by using Berserk. Basically, for any boss that take more than 30 seconds to kill (IE Nex, KK, and Vorago), The double damage that Berserk gives to your subsequent hits increases your damage by so much that range and mage cannot even compare in the long run.Runescape Money. This makes Tectonic useless as power armor because torva and drygores will still outhit you in any situation where it matters :/

The solution:
Give Mage and Range a Berserk equivalent or nerf Berserk (dont like that option tbh).

Let me give you an example.
All logic states that you should range Vorago. His melee attack hits everyone in melee distance, quickly using up the entire groups food. Mage attacks hit anyone around the target. Food conservation wise range is the way to go.
However, everybody Voragoing wants to get the drop, and the only way to be the one to get the drops is to Berserk every second that it is readily available and therefore you need melee.

Berserk is the reason everybody is meleeing a boss that logic tells them to range.

Take nex.
The only thing she dosnt pray against is magic. If every style had the same dps magic would be the obvious route, especially with the new level 90 power armor.
Yet everyone melees because you cant top the dps of berserk :/

This will make a huge step toward balancing the combat triangle Jagex, and it will fix your boss MCL so that it can actually be 5manned like it is supossed to be bump b/c this is important thats not really a nerf considering the only other damage boosting ultimate is 10%.

I just looked up the Abilities to check. Death’s Swiftness and Sunshine (Ultimates unlocked by The World Wakes) both boost damage by 50% for 10 seconds. Metamorphasis boosts damage by 50% for 20 seconds, and Berserk boosts damage by 100% for 20 seconds with a 50% incoming damage increase and 50% armor loss.

The easy fix is either to make Berserk only boost 50% and to increase the timer on the two World Wakes ultimates to 20 seconds, or to make the World Wakes ultimates boost 100% for 20 seconds. Either way you look at it, it makes no sense that Magic and Ranged get a smaller boost for a smaller amount of time.
